Description

This module introduces students to the scope and diversity of landscape architecture and the role of landscape architects in tackling contemporary social/environmental issues. The lecture series covers the sub-disciplines of planning, design and management, giving historical context to each as well as covering contemporary issues through the use of relevant case studies. The aim is to familiarise students with the range of work undertaken by landscape architects, the challenges the profession faces and the role of the Landscape Institute in regulating the profession. On completing the module, students should be able to categorize key elements that constitute any given landscape.
